Founded by Shri Krishan Lal Hans on the 4th of Feb 1990 in the memory of his father Bhagat Ishar Dass Hans, who died with complications of uncontrolled, undetected Diabetes, and himself fighting & controlling against Diabetes. Having made a good place for himself and his family in the society practicing as a Lawyer, a thought enlightened his mind to give back to society and to help the society at large. And with this thought in mind, he created this fund in the form of B.I.D.H. Trust.
Widow pensions in the slums/JJ Clusters in Indira Vikas Colony,Delhi were some of the very first grants initiated by the Trust. And then followed up with education grants for blind & poor students.
Under the aegis of the Trust the biggest step towards their mission was taken with the decision to start a Charitable Hospital for the poor and the lower middle class who can’t afford private medical treatment but are afraid to go the government setups.
On 28th March 1993 the Trust’s first major initiative bore fruits and the HANS CHARITABLE HOSPITAL was inaugurated in the presence of Shri Saheb Singh Verma, then Chief Minister of Delhi.
